The focus of this town hall was on the mental and emotional health implications of HIV/AIDS. Since HIV/AIDS is at epidemic levels among Black women, it is important to address the mental and emotional health ramifications of the AIDS crisis.

California Black Women's Health Project's town hall meetings serve to address the mental, emotional and physical health of Black women. These open forums have been created as a tool for Black women to voice their concerns and opinions in order to improve the health of Black women through education, advocacy and policy. Community members, activists and women living with depression gathered to discuss the issue of depression from a holistic and culturally relevant perspective.

This town hall focused on impact of sexual abuse on Black women's mental emotional and physical health. The focus of this town hall is how sexual abuse affects Black women's mental, emotional and physical health. Addressing the stigmas that prevent many Black women from:
(1) admitting that there is a problem and
(2) seeking help to address these issues. Our goal is to design and implement policy and community-wide solutions incorporating the opinions and concerns voiced by Black women.
